The coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic triggered devastating consequences for human life and the global economy. Borders closed, countries went into lockdown and many businesses shut down. Through it all, however one industry kept the world supplied.
The global economy depends on the world’s 2 million seafarers who operate the global fleet of merchant ships. Earlier this year, Intership joined the global industry in signing the Neptune Declaration, aimed at facilitating crew changes and keeping the global supply chain functioning.
Following through on our commitment to recognise seafarers as key workers and give them access to COVID-19 vaccines, all the crew onboard our PCTC Pelagic Piranha recently received their doses at Wilhelmshaven and Antwerp.
