Shipping is already considered the most environmentally friendly mode of transport.
But this by itself is not enough for us - at Intership, we continuously strive to decrease any negative impact of our vessels on the environment and work towards a sustainable shipping industry.
Intership has taken several measures to improve the operational efficiency of its vessels, and all new buildings are designed to include ‘tomorrow’s technology’ already today.
Our policies both onboard and ashore are designed to foster a culture of safety, quality, respect for the environment and social responsibility.
Intership supports gender equality and is an equal opportunity employer. Recognizing the need to actively support an increase in the number of female seafarers Intership makes positions available dedicated for women in command of our vessels.
We are actively promoting seafarer rights and a worldwide stop to seafarer criminalisation. Intership is signatory to the Neptune Declaration on Seafarer Wellbeing and Crew Change which aims to promote and protect the welfare of seafarers.
Our work within the local community aims to promote education and support the community, both socially and economically.
We engage in the support of institutions assisting persons with special needs, through our own initiatives as well as through sponsorship of charitable cultural events, we partake in community projects for the environment such as tree planting and beach cleaning and actively participate in educational programs specifically aimed at promoting careers within the shipping industry as well as offer scholarships for academic courses.
Intership is proudly represented within various governmental initiatives promoting equality and education in shipping
